So we got the new gas cylinder for the BBQ this week –
great news… we ran out last year and it was sad as we do love to eat out – not like out at the restaurant out but outside out…
Simon lugged it round to the back of the house, where the BBQ is positioned opposite the swing seat- perfect. We found that lounging around on the swing seat while stuff cooks is just delightful… so we were poised for the first lunch of the year and then………..
we realised that just beside the swing seat we have the nesting box and this year it is being used by the Great Tits (previously occupied by the Blue Tits who have successfully raised several clutches of air cadets who fly out and wobble on the washing line as their first sorties from the nest – bless them..
Will the Great Tit air cadets also use the washing line we wonder, or will they perch on the rose arch? who knows?
What we do know is that the BBQ is FAR too close to the nesting box and this week is going to be wall to wall sunshine, so we will need to move the BBQ somewhere else or have cold meat and salad all week (which is a good option in itself), but…

So, being those people who are always happy to move stuff round, we ‘just’ took everything off the teak trolley and moved it, moved the two teak garden chairs, cut back the honeysuckle quite dramatically – moved the Brown lidded garden waste bin into the garden, filled it with the honeysuckle cuttings, took the garden parasol down and out of its base, moved the table over, spun it through 90 degrees, cut a bit more honeysuckle, put all the clippings in the garden waste bin, brushed up all the old leaves, moved the BBQ over, set the teak trolley up where the BBQ had been, moved the two teak chairs back to just outside the kitchen where they get the afternoon sun (lovely for a mid afternoon cuppa).. and cooked lunch on the BBQ because…

and we DO like to eat out and we don’t want to disturb the air cadets in their nest – no way….
